Abstract
In this study, we performed PCR-RFLP analysis of CAST gene using MspI restriction enzyme to evaluate genotype distribution among Edilbay sheep population (n=60). Allele M was predominant among the studied animals. M and N allele frequencies were 0.94 and 0.06, respectively. MM and MN genotypes were detected with frequencies of 0.88 and 0.12, respectively, while NN genotype was not found in the studied population.
