Abstract
The article considers the results of PCR-pdrf analysis of the distribution of genotypes of the CAST gene in sheep of the Tatarstan breed (n = 100), bred in the Republic of Tatarstan, and the edilbaev breed (n = 60), bred in the Saratov region. The polymorphism of this gene was first studied in sheep of the studied breeds. Also, animals were found to be carriers of the selectively significant n allele.

The results of lifetime assessment of sheep meat productivity are presented. In rams of different breeds, indicators of lifetime meat productivity (torso, pre-slaughter live weight) they were characterized by a high rating-4.05-4.50 points. The expression of meat forms (condition) in Queens of breeds of meat-wool productivity was good and varied on average from 12.5 to 13.4 points. The coefficient of variation on this feature among the studied breeds was insignificant, at the level of 8.71-9.80%.

In physiological experiments, the influence of different levels of cobalt in diets on its use by pregnant ewes in different periods of their pregnancy was studied. It was Found that the deficiency of cobalt in the diets of ewes from the first experimental group by 28; 36,4 and 33,3%, compared with the second control group, reduces both absolute and relative absorption from feed during all periods of pregnancy.
