The magazine "Sheep, goats, wool business" was registered with the Russian Press Committee on 10.08.1995 No. 014000. It is published quarterly (4 times a year). It is the only industry scientific and production publication in the Russian Federation and CIS countries, which covers a wide range of issues: breeding; breeding; genetics; reproduction; feeding; maintenance; production technology; quality of wool, meat, milk; prevention and treatment of diseases of sheep and goats.

The editorial board of the journal includes prominent sheep scientists: academicians and corresponding member of the Russian Academy of Sciences, Doctors of Sciences, professors.

Since January 1, 2007, by the Resolution of the Higher Attestation Commission, the journal has been included in the list of peer-reviewed, leading scientific publications publishing materials for the degree of doctor and Candidate of Sciences in zootechnical and veterinary specialties. In November 2015, by the decision of the Presidium of the Higher Attestation Commission, the journal was included in the new List by branches of sciences: 03.00.00 - Biological Sciences, 06.00.00 - Agricultural Sciences.
