Fibre diameter of main rams of fi ne-wool breeds of sheep of Kalmykia

Abstract
The results of measuring the fi bre diameter of the wool of the main rams of 8 pedigree farms of the Republic of Kalmykia are presented, the samples taken from 389 main rams of Grozny, Stavropol and Chernozemel Merino breeds. The samples were carried out in the laboratory for testing and certification of wool belonging to the All Russian Research Institute of Animal Breeding. The variability of fibre diameter and wool equal between farm herds and breeds of sheep has been established.
