Modern ultrasound methods for diagnosing pregnancy and infertility in goats

https://doi.org/10.26897/2074-0840-2023-4-49-53

Abstract

The purpose of the study is to prepare a review of modern ultrasound methods for diagnosing pregnancy and infertility in goats, based on literature data. For the review, scientific articles published in the bibliographic databases E-library and Scopus were used. It has been shown that visual echography is a safe and highly informative research method that makes it possible to accurately diagnose infertility and pregnancy in goats, determine the timing of gestation, predict the number and sex of gestatedfetuses, conduct dynamic monitoring of their growth and development throughout almost the entire pregnancy, as well as clearly differentiate physiologically developing pregnancy from false pregnancy, which is important for practical veterinary medicine.
