Abstract
Rough-haired goats are one of the types of domestic animals bred in Tuva. Goats are common in all natural and climatic zones of the republic. The total number of livestock in the republic is more than 13 thousand heads. Tuva coarsehaired goats are of particular value in the gene pool of agricultural animals of the republic. The paper summarizes the data on the indicators of the exterior, determines the measurements and indices of physique, the dynamics of the live weight of animals and the gains of a new downy type of goats bred in the conditions of the Republic of Tyva.
